History

Rombald Inc. was incorporated in 1998 by the two founders Roman Baldur and Roy Ojala.

Roman was an engineering professor at both the University of Montreal and the University of Waterloo with degrees in electrical, mechanical and aeronautical engineering. Roman, a recipient of the Ernest Manning Award for Canadian Technological Achievement, retired from the company in 2003.

Roy Ojala is an electrical engineer with a BaSc from the University of Waterloo (1983) with work experience in the high technology sector (Norton, Bell Northern Research, Switchview, Corman Technologies and Research in Motion), the construction sector (Sutherland-Schultz and SAF Drive Systems) and also product development. Ojala holds US patents for communication technology for consumer applications. Roy focuses on client development and strategic partnering.

During the first decade, the company focused on energy management and electrical building designs. The company experienced steady growth through repeated client work and strong references. All of the early clients remain with the company as of today.

In 2006, Chris Blazek joined the company bringing with him over 24 years of practical hands on experience with electrical and telecomm installation and design. Chris is responsible for managing design production within the company and has secured new clients by ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
